Job Description

We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Operative to work on a permanent basis in Stockport.

Salary: Dependent on experience, minimum £13.20 per hour.
Start date: ASAP

Working hours:

• Monday–Thursday: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
• Friday: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
• 39.5 hours per week

Reporting to:

Manufacturing Supervisor / Team Leader

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Experience using hand tools and basic workshop machinery
• Background working with metal components (stainless steel, aluminium, acetals)
• Strong awareness of health & safety and quality standards

You will need the ability to:

• Measure, mark out, drill, tap, and de-burr components
• Inspect parts visually and geometrically to quality standards
• Work to drawing specifications and standard times
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working area
• Support production across departments when required

Skills and experience:

• Strong attention to detail
• Team-oriented and reliable approach
• Willingness to learn and develop within engineering
• Mechanical awareness (desirable, not essential)
