Job Description

We are looking for a Laser Perforator Slitter Machine Operator to work on a permanent basis in Wigan.

Salary: £30,118 + regular overtime opportunities

Reporting to: Production Supervisor

The ideal candidate will have: 

• Experience operating production or print machinery with digital/computer control
• A good technical understanding and confidence using screens/technology
• Basic mechanical understanding for simple machine changeovers
• A methodical, detail-focused approach to manufacturing
• The willingness to train on specialist laser/slitter systems

You will need the ability to: 

• Follow digital production instructions and drawings to control laser units
• Adjust perforation layout, spacing, hole size, and laser settings via HMI
• Monitor multiple machines with accuracy and attention to detail
• Learn quickly with a positive and proactive attitude
• Work continental 12-hour shifts (days, nights, weekends)
• Every 4^th week off
• Overtime paid at time and a half

Skills and experience: 

• Previous experience in manufacturing, printing, or machine operation
• Comfortable with technology and touchscreen-based controls
• Attention to quality and commitment to health and safety
• Team player with a willingness to learn and upskill
