CNC Machinist

Job Description

We are looking for a CNC Machinist to work on a permanent basis near Stockport.

Salary is c£28,500 – 38,500 per annum plus 33 days’ holiday, company pension, healthcare etc.

Duties for the CNC Machinist role:

This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll work across a range of manufacturing processes. Whether you’re already multi-skilled or have experience in one area and are keen to develop further, full cross-training can be provided.

The Role

• Operate CNC milling machinery.
• Program, set and operate CNC turning machines.
• Carry out TIG or laser welding (depending on experience).
• Dress and finish precision machined components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Complete quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and health & safety.
• Work closely with colleagues to achieve production targets.

Person Specification for the CNC Machinist:

• Previous experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Experience in at least one of the following:
  • CNC Milling
  • CNC Turning
  • TIG or Laser Welding
  • Machining, finishing or deburring components
• Able to read engineering drawings.
• A positive attitude with a willingness to learn additional manufacturing skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
