Job title: Lead Flexographic Printer

Salary: £41,140.51 per annum

Duration: Permanent

Reporting to: Print Process Manager

The successful candidate will have:

• Extensive flexographic printing experience with solvent-based inks
• Wide web press experience essential
• Relevant Print NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification preferred
• Strong manufacturing background in label or packaging printing
• Experience overseeing the work of others on print presses
• Good level of literacy and numeracy (GCSE English and Maths preferred)

You will need the ability to:

• Set up and operate flexographic print machinery to optimum levels
• Lead and direct Print Assistants, ensuring compliance with SOPs
• Monitor and control print quality proactively
• Troubleshoot printing press and quality issues effectively
• Work 12-hour shift patterns, including days and nights
• Maintain lean manufacturing principles, including 5S and SMED
• Complete accurate paperwork and electronic data entry

Skills and experience:

• Fischer Krecke 126S, 20SIX CS colour printers or BOBST printer experience advantageous
• Knowledge of eXact Spectro and IFS6 systems
• Understanding of BRC, ISO and A2 permit compliance
• Exposure to Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement techniques
• Experience working with KPIs and production targets
• Strong mechanical aptitude and computer-based system understanding
• Excellent attention to detail and quality focus
• Physical fitness for lifting and bending activities
